Just when you thought we’d have our first full week of uninterrupted baseball, Mother Nature made some alterations to the April schedule and forced dozens of Twinkie Town regulars to find something else to do with their Friday night. (Apparently, it didn’t even wind up raining.)
The upside is that dozens of Twinkie Town regulars now have TWO things to do with their Saturday afternoon! The Twins and Orioles are kicking off game one of a traditional doubleheader, with Minnesota hoping to bounce back from a disappointing home series defeat at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Baltimore is another weak East Coast opponent. After an outright embarrassing 2018 season, Baltimore is off to a slow, but not historically poor, start. Dan Straily (he of the 10.24 ERA) will make his fourth career appearance for the O’s. Jose Berrios (he of the 4/4 quality starts and league-leading 0.73 WHIP) will go for Minnesota.
Today’s 26th man for the Twins is Fernando Romero. (Next season, he would be the 27th man, with regular season rosters set to expand.)
GO TWINS GO!!!
