Game 38: Tigers at Twins

Alright Detroit, we’re winning this one.

MLB: Minnesota Twins at Houston Astros Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

First Pitch: 7:10 P.M. CT

TV: FSNO

Radio: TIBN

Know Thine Enemy: Bless You Boys

The Twins fell 5-3 in the first game today and will look to bounce back for the nightcap with Kohl Stewart on the mound facing Gregory Soto. Soto will be making his major league debut, and it will be against an angry Twins team looking to avenge their game one loss. He has also never pitched at the AAA level and has only thrown 13.1 innings at AA. Good luck.

Kohl Stewart will be making his second start of the 2019 season for the Twins. His first start came on April 24th against a Houston team and he went 6.0 innings giving up 5 runs on 8 hits. Last year he went 2-1 with a 3.68 ERA in eight games so he’s capable of being a big league pitcher.

The relief pitchers who will likely not be available this game due to their usage in game one are Ryne Harper (33 pitches) and Trevor Hildenberger (21 pitches). Trevor May also pitched but only threw seven pitches.

In case you missed it, the roster moves made for today’s double header had Martin Perez placed on the paternity list, Kohl Stewart recalled in his place and Tyler Duffey recalled as the 26th man. Perez should be back for his start tomorrow.

This is a game the Twins should win and it would set up nicely to go win the series tomorrow. Go Twins go!
