In case you weren’t aware, it does in fact rain in southern California.
While there are varying reports on exactly how much rain fell in the Los Angeles — the non-game game thread suggests it was somewhere between a quarter and a half-inch of liquid — the consensus seems to be that there is not a drainage system underneath the field at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
That meant that there was no way a baseball game was taking place on Wednesday night and the game was postponed due to unplayable field conditions. (For the record, it was only the third postponed game at the ballpark since 1995.)
Instead, the Twins and Angels will play at 3:07 p.m. Central Time on Thursday. Which means that you won’t have to stay up super late for the third consecutive night, and we get to enjoy some day baseball.
See you all on Thursday afternoon!
