Know Thine Enemy: Brew Crew Ball
The Twins welcome in the Milwaukee Brewers for the first contest of a two-game set, playing tonight (weather permitting) on Memorial Day. Though I haven’t see any pictures, I believe both teams will be wearing specialized uniforms to honor America’s troops who have served as part of the United States’ armed forces.
I want to say thank you and show my appreciation to all the men and women who are serving or have served to protect this amazing country. We remember and honor those who have fallen to keep our freedom alive.

Tonight’s pitching matchup will feature free agent acquisition Gio Gonzalez for the Brewers and Michael Pineda for the Twins. Gonzalez has actually been pretty good for the Brew Crew, sporting a 2.39 ERA in five starts. However, each of his starts have been between 5.0 and 5.2 innings, so it will be interesting to see how long he lasts tonight against the Twins.
Pineda has posted three straight quality starts, but has struggled a bit with the gopher ball. The big righty has given up 14 dingers this season, tied for the third most in the MLB. The Brewers have MLB home run leader Christain Yelich, who has 21 bombs already. Seems like a likely night for a Yelich bomb, but only time will tell.
Fortunately the Twins hit bombs (or bombas, as Eddie Rosario calls them) as well, and are currently on pace to obliterate the MLB record. CJ Cron is only Twins to have recorded a homer against Gio Gonzalez, though Jonathan Schoop (4-16) is the only member of the Twins lineup has more than four at-bats against Gonzalez. Hopefully the Twins increase their bomba total tonight at Target Field against Gonzalez.
