Things you might have missed on this site yesterday:
- Last week highlighted a couple areas the Twins could probably improve on, despite the winning record, writes BigTakes. Big if taken. I think thats how that goes.
- The next cut for the MLB All-Star game is coming soon. A few Twins are still leading their positions, but more are on the bubble and need your votes! Unless you’re a Royals fan who somehow found your way over here. We haven’t forgotten how you guys rigged the election worse than a hanging chad. That joke just went over the head of anyone younger than 27.
- Jose Berrios pitched a gem last night. The offense apparently showed up at a different ballpark or something though, as the Twins were held scoreless by the perennially youthful Rick Porcello.
Things that you might have missed on other Twin-sy sites yesterday:
- At Twins Daily, Matt Braun profiled a potential relief pitching target for the Twins, Robert Stephenson of the Reds.
- Betting News, which is a site about, you guessed it, betting news, wonders if the Twins are peaking to early. Based on the last week, maybe the Twins already peaked. That is a scary thought.
- Remember on Sunday, when Martin Maldonado of the Royals wore a tie on catcher’s gear? Everyone’s favorite Turtle, Willians Astudillo, did the same thing down in Triple-A.
Things that you might have missed in the whole wide world of baseball:
- Everyone is talking about the infamous, and objectively disgusting Mayonnaise Man of the Minors. Cut4 will catch you up on the phenomenon, and also has some questions for our condiment eating friend. Also, as a middle-american, that Mayonnaise Joe question spoke to me. Yes, I did sing it out loud. Yes, my wife thinks I’m weird.
- Edwin Encarnacion is excited to be a Yankee. Meanwhile, Michael Pineda is having nightmares about facing those guys in the Bronx.
- The Padres and Rockies scored a combined 92 runs in four games this weekend. Yes, that is a lot. In fact, it’s a MLB record.
Things you should discuss below:
How far do you think the current roster will be able to take the Twins? In other words, if they don’t add any players, how far will they get in the playoffs?
