Last time out, Jose Berrios was at his most dominant. Facing the loaded lineup of the Boston Red Sox, the most homegrown of Minnesota’s aces kept his team in the game as long as he could, striking out 10, and facing darn near the minimum. This time out, he’ll have what should be a slightly easier opponent in the last-place Royals. Might be a good opportunity to continue to lower that shiny 2.86 ERA.

On the flip side, it’s lefty Danny Duffy going for the Royals. A veteran of Kansas City, Duffy has been on the team since 2011 and has always been a tick-above-average MLB starter, with some solid years mixed in around the Royals’ championship window earlier in the decade. He’s had a pair of short starts this month: just five innings last time out against Seattle, and less than three against Boston on June 6th.
