Ryne Stanek plays the role of Opener for the Devil Rays. (Yes I will always call them the Devil Rays, it is a great name and they should have never changed it.) Stanek has a 1.85 ERA in his outings as an opener (with 2.47 overall.) and strikes out slightly more than 1 hitter per inning. I’m slightly upset the Twins didn’t use Ryne Harper as an opener today simply for the Ryne vs Ryne no-holds-barred opener cage match.

Instead, Martín Peréz will start. The dude is starting to look a lot more mortal in his last few outings, but he should still be able to do the coveted job of Giving the Team a Chance to Win™

The Twins really don’t steal many bases, huh?

Willians Astudillo could lead the league in SB, he’s just hiding his power level.
