New, 20 comments

Lets see how many you can guess!

Ft. Myers, Fla - Twins Spring Training - 2/26/03 - How reliable is the Twins relief pitching? Romero, Hawkins and Santana were all knocked around pretty good in last season’s playoffs. The Twins are looking for a stronger response from them this season.

Since it’s an off day, I’m bringing back the Trivia! No prizes, just bragging rights, but let’s see how you do! Feel free to post your guesses in the comments. I’ll be putting the answers in the very first comment, under spoiler tags.

  1. What is the Twins all-time record versus the Mets?
  2. The 2004 St. Louis Cardinals have the best single-season winning percentage for interleague play, at .917, and the 2006 Twins are tied for second place at .889. Who are the other two teams that have a .889 winning percentage in single season interleague play?
  3. Johan Santana is one of five players who have only played for the Twins and Mets in their big-league career. Name the other four.
  4. The Twins have only had a pitcher lose 20 games in a season once, Pedro Ramos in 1961. One year later, in 1962, the Mets had two pitchers accomplish this ignominious feat. Who were they?
  5. The Twins have completed two trades on July 15th since moving to Minnesota. What were they?
  6. Over any period of seven games, what is the most runs the Twins have scored in 2019? The least? How about 2018?
  7. Out of all retired numbers for the Twins, who had the lowest career WAR?
  8. Who was the last player to be the opening day starter at DH for the Twins in consecutive years?
  9. Andrew Romine of the Tigers played all nine defensive positions against the Twins in 2017. He is also one of three players in baseball history to have played all ten positions (DH counts) in a single season. Who were the other two?
  10. Which pitcher in Twins history has pitched the most consecutive games without giving up more than one extra base hit? How about for current Twins?
