The Twins and A’s have split the first two games of their four-day weekend set. In that time, second-place Cleveland has clawed their way up another game. Tonight, Minnesota’s lead in the AL Central sits at just three games.
The Bomba Squad needs to get back on a roll, having lost four of their last five ballgames, which has happened three times since June 20th after not happening at all.
To help jumpstart a new winning streak, Minnesota will send Jose Berrios to the mound to face lefty Brett Anderson. The two-time All-Star is coming off one of his shorter starts this year, and has a career 6.32 ERA against Oakland. It might be time to do something about that small sample size.
Anderson is probably having his best year since 2010 during his first stint with Oakland. This will be start number 20 for him, after surpassing 19 starts only twice before in a ten-year career.
GO TWINS GO!
