Happy 4th of July, Twins Territory! How about a Twins win?

MLB: Minnesota Twins at Oakland Athletics D. Ross Cameron-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Fourth of July everyone! The Twins will look to win the series against the Athletics after a dramatic 12 inning victory last night. Jose Berrios will be making his first start since being named to the All Star game. Over his last five starts he has a 2.06 ERA and was recently named the Twinkie Town starter of the month in my most recent post.

The Twins will be looking to bring the fireworks against right hander Tanner Anderson who has a 7.13 ERA in 4 games this season. He is not a big strikeout guy and he allows 10.6 H/9 to opponents. Hopefully the Twins offense can provide the fireworks early and often.

The Twins come into this game with a 7.0 game lead over Cleveland while going just 5-5 in their last 10 games. This recent stretch has really not been good and it is probably an ideal time for the All Star break to come with many guys tired or banged up.

Let’s hope the Twins can finish the half strong by taking game three of the series and taking on Texas at home tomorrow.
