Not even eight hours into September, the Twins have announced their initial call-ups for the final month of the season.

Ian Miller on the run,
Brusdar breaks the radar gun,
Then a couple recollections
From the Injured List.

Willians and LaMonte Wade:
They’re about to get paid!
Stewart, Smeltzer, and Littell, sir:
Anyone I missed?

(we didn’t start the fire...)

As previously reported, fireballer/flamethrower/other-metaphors-involving-fire-that-signify-throwing-really-hard-er Brusdar Graterol and speedy outfielder Ian Miller have been added to the 40-man roster and called up to Minnesota. They’ll be joined by pitchers Devin Smeltzer (in his fifth trip to the big club this year), Zack Littell (also his fifth), and Kohl Stewart (his seventh). Smeltzer and Stewart will be likely candidates to take Kyle Gibson’s spot in the rotation after the starter was placed on the Injured List this morning.

Additionally, Willians Astudillo and LaMonte Wade Jr. have been recalled from their long-term injury rehab and will join the active roster. Byron Buxton remains on the 10-day IL, while the Twins have moved Sean Poppen to the 60-day IL, shutting him down for the season, to free room on the 40-man for Graterol and Miller.

And last, Pensacola pitching coach Cibney Bello will be joining the major league coaching staff for the final month of the season.

Welcome to September baseball... again.
