Know Thine Enemy: Bless You Boys

Happy Labor Day from your friends at Twinkie Town! The Twins will be celebrating Labor Day by playing the Tigers to wrap up a four-game set at Comerica Park in Detroit.

On the bump for your Twinkies will be All-Star Jake Odorizzi. After a great first half of the season, Odorizzi has seeen some struggles in the second half of the year. He has picked things up a bit in August with a 2.86 ERA in the month over a five starts.

The Tigers will throw Jordan Zimmerman (1-9, 6.24 ERA) this afternoon. Zimmerman obviously has not had a good season, but has been better in August with a 3.27 ERA and a 21-2 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 22 innings. The Twins faced Zimmerman once earlier this season, an outing in which he lasted just three innings and gave up five runs on eight hits.

Eddie Rosario has the most at-bats (20) against Zimmerman among the Twins hitters, and has had a lot of success with a 1.133 OPS. Jorge Polanco (.890 OPS) and Max Kepler (.822 OPS) have also been good against Zimmerman over 13 at-bats.
