Believe it or not, Opening Day is only about two months away! If you’ve been mulling around the idea of buying tickets to any (or many) Minnesota Twins home games for the upcoming season, a neat ticket package will be making its return this season.
The Twins Pass will be available for purchase starting tomorrow, January 21. Purchasing this pass will get you access to all Twins home games throughout the regular season except for Opening Day. It’s debuting this year at a cost of $45 per month, which - based on Bert Blyleven style California math - $3.38 per game. It’s a pretty sweet deal, especially if you are within decent driving distance from Target Field.
The Twins Pass does not come with an assigned seat, so the pass is for standing room only. Although that may sound pretty terrible, with the great views, stores, and food around Target Field, this would be a great package for someone who wants to check out the game from different angles, yet spend some time checking out what the stadium has to offer. If you purchase the ticket package but still want to sit down and soak in a game from one spot for the day, you have the option to purchase an upgrade to an assigned seat for that game.
Another neat detail is that if you purchase the plan and decide that you do not want to continue on with the ticket package, you can opt out of it and the Twins will not charge you on a monthly basis going forward, depending on when you cancel. Note that you do have to have a smartphone (iPhone or Android) and the MLB Ballpark App in order to redeem your tickets.
The $45-per-month pricing is only good through February 12, when the pricing will go up to $49 per month - $3.68 per game - which is still a great deal. For more information, you can go to the Twins’ official website here.
