Previously on Twinkie Town:
- Sandwiches reported the sad news that the Twins did not pick up Sergio Romo’s club option. My reaction:
- Sandwiches, the sadness informer, also talked about all the arbitration eligible Twins and who the team might non-tender.
- Blog Overlord TJ examined in no small way all Minnesota’s needs (and non-needs) for the coming offseason.
- He also did a trivia thing for the olds among you, especially those that might wish to remember what it was like to have a team that won things for real sometimes.
Elsewhere in Twins Territory:
- Fangraphs interviewed Caleb Thielbar on his wild and weird baseball career and the development of his curveball. Honestly forgot their was a few years where he wasn’t a Twin, because I am smart and good at my job.
- Twins Daily listed a whole mess potential Free Agent targets, including the most professional hitter of them all, Robbie Grossman.
- ESPN released some very very early 2021 season MLB Power Rankings. The Twins find themselves two spots behind a certain upstart AL Central team with darling fans that we all love and do not want to flame on Twitter. This does not bode well for my mentions.
- Do-Hyoung Park has a nifty offseason FAQ over at the official site. A lot of this is already covered by our lovely staff, but its a nice all encompassing sit-rep for people who want to get a complete picture.
Other Baseball Links or Whatever We Call This Section:
- Over at Bless You Boys, Brandon Day takes down the narrative that analytics cost the Rays the World Series. This is a must read for you grumpy anti-analytic folks if you can find time in your schedule between shaking your fist at the lumbering ghost of Euclid, and asking your grandson how to turn on your computer machine.
- Don’t like politics in sports? Well owners sure like using the money they make from sports to support politicians, and boy is it mostly leaning towards one side. I’m sure no arguments could possibly arise from this link. (Eat the rich.)
- Seriously though, I’m really sad about Romo.
