In case you missed it:
- I started doing this section at a time we were pumping out like 10 posts per day, and it was easy to lose stuff on the front page. Not so sure we need it right now.
- Nevertheless, here are a couple posts where I tried to be funny. If you’re one of the three people who think I succeeded, thank you.
- Zach writes about hustle and grit and all the things we love.
Elsewhere, among Twins
- The Mets, Blue Jays, and Giants are all suitors for a pitcher the Twins also have interest in. Okay, that’s vague. Its Jake Odorizzi. We know he liked it here, but hopefully there isn’t a bidding war on the horizon.
- Nick Nelson wrote a book about video games, so over at Twins Daily, he mashed up the two things, and wrote about each generation’s top baseball video games. The correct answer should be Ken Griffey Jr baseball on SNES. Come at me.
- While mentioned Monday Morning as something likely to happen, three former Twins officially are on the HOF ballot. That would be Torii Hunter, Michael Cuddyer, and LaTroy Hawkins if you missed the news and don’t want to click the link.
Around Baseball
- Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein is resigning. This comes at more-or-less the same time that the Cubs are looking at a rebuild, and potentially trading almost every veteran. The Phillies are apparently interested in Epstein, but man, this tweet was poorly worded
According to league sources the Phildelphia Phillies will come after Theo Epstein aggressively regardless of his desire to take a year off.

- Meanwhile, the Mets GM search seems to have gone to Heck. Yes, I did include this tidbit just to make that joke.
Sources: #Mets denied permission to interview #Brewers president of baseball operations David Stearns. Story: https://t.co/QUqoK2CCZS @MLB @MLBNetwork

One more #Mets update: Sources say #Rays highly regarded executive Bobby Heck is under consideration for a top front-office role with Mets. Since he is not the Tampa Bay GM, he likely would be permitted to leave for a GM role (or higher) in New York. @MLBNetwork @MLB

- Oh look, Ken Griffey Jr comes up again. He has joined the ownership group of the Seattle Sounders F.C.
- Mike Clevinger got a new contract, and is going to spend a couple more years in San Diego. Whether or not he actually pitches for the Padres will wait to be seen, as he is also apparently going under the knife for Tommy John surgery.
- Will Venable, until very recently the Cubs third base coach, will be the Red Sox new bench coach.
Discuss
- Do you think any of the three former Twins on the ballot deserve to be in the Hall of Fame? Why or why not? Who has the best chance?
