Who can’t you wait to see on the field?

Welcome back to another edition of our weekly discussions! Personally, I couldn’t wait for this particular week to end (finals week), and I hope this discussion will send us all into the weekend on a high note. Here’s the prompt: Which Twins players are you most excited to watch in 2021?

The Twins have no shortage of exciting established players already on the roster, and there is likely going to be at least a couple fresh faces coming from the farm (or free agency). Here’s a few of my picks.

Byron Buxton

Who else? Of course I’m excited to watch one of the five most exciting players in baseball in 2021. Whenever Buck steps on the field, something amazing can happen. Especially after his hot last month to the season (before an unfortunate fastball ruined it for him), Buxton is definitely one of the guys I’m excited to watch in 2021. All I want for Christmas is better health for Buxton.

Alex Kirilloff/Brent Rooker

The new left-fielder for the Minnesota Twins. Whichever of these prospects takes the job, I’ll be excited to see what they have in store for an extended stretch in the bigs. Both performed well and impressed many people in their limited looks last year, and could be primed for rookie of the year-type performances.

Ryan Jeffers

Jeffers burst onto the scene in 2020, picking up the slack for oft-injured Alex Avila and Mitch Garver. While I certainly hope to see a bounce-back performance from Garver, I am excited to see if Jeffers can repeat or improve on his performance from last year. His pitch-framing and batting will be great assets to the squad.

Now it’s your turn! Who are you excited to watch in 2021? Maybe you’re just excited to get to 2021, but regardless, drop your players in the comments! Happy holidays!
