Thorpe has left camp to manage personal matters


Betsy Helfand of the St Paul Pioneer Press has reported via Twitter that lefty starter Lewis Thorpe has left the Minnesota Twins Spring Training camp. The reason that the Australian pitcher is to tend to personal matters, which were undisclosed. The team has said they do not have a timeline for his return.

Thorpe is a strong candidate vying for the last open spot in the starting rotation for the 2020 campaign. Although it is understandable that he is missing time in camp due to personal reasons, any time missed may hinder his chances at claiming a rotation spot.
