Know Thine Enemy: Over the Monster

Ties should not happen in baseball. Yet, the Twins have tied 3 times in 9 Spring Training games. In yesterday’s tie, Hyun-Jin Ryu, who was highly coveted by the Twins in free agency, made his spring debut. Prospect Zander Wiel hit a home run off him, which makes me happy.

Today, Twins offseason acquisition Homer Bailey makes his spring debut. Last year, he played for the Royals and A’s. He went 13-9 with a 4.57 ERA last year, which explains why some Twins fans are angry about the signing. Red Sox pitching prospect Kyle Hart will oppose Bailey. Hart pitched against us on Monday, and you might remember that Gilberto Celestino and Nelson Cruz hit homers off him.

Today, Max Kepler will make his spring debut, as he suffered a minor injury in camp. Josh Donaldson, Miguel Sano, Mitch Garver, Eddie Rosario, and Luis Arraez are the rest of the 2020 starters in the lineup. Willians Astudillo, LaMonte Wade Jr, and Drew Maggi will round out the lineup.
