Good morning or afternoon to everyone! If you thought this Minnesota Twins were out of this blockbuster trade saga that will probably be picked up by Disney and made into a movie, well, we’re all wrong.
LaVelle E Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune wrote today that talks progressed throughout the night. The Los Angeles Dodgers have now stepped in and it appears that the Twins and Boston Red Sox will not be swapping players. Rather, the Dodgers and the Twins will be swapping players - presumably pitchers Kenta Maeda and Brusdar Graterol. Additional players may be included in that swap, which are prospects outside the top-10 tier on either side. Additionall, LENIII tweeted that Graterol is just hanging out in Fort Myers, throwing bullpen sessions:
Btw, here’s Graterol today in Fort Myers. pic.twitter.com/Y6okU8jZ8c

Jon Heyman weighed in, echoing what LENIII wrote in his article. It seems the Red Sox and Twins have broken off their end of the trade as they themselves will deal with L.A. Meanwhile, the Dodgers and Red Sox will re-work their end of the trade. Maybe we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel?
Twins now dealing directly with Dodgers and that part of mega deal seems pretty set, with Maeda still going to Minnesota and Graterol presumably going to LA. Dodgers are now mostly working with Red Sox to rejigger package for Betts. There’s certainly increased hope. #Mookie

Ken Rosenthal also weighs in with similar information:
In current talks, #MNTwins are working hard to satisfy #Dodgers and the Dodgers are working hard to satisfy #RedSox, sources say. Two separate deals are possible (for example, Graterol-plus for Maeda and Verdugo and others for Betts/Price). But all three teams involved in talks.

Meanwhile, Betsy Helfand, beat reporter for the St Paul Pioneer Press, was out of the country and is “in the dark” about the whole ordeal:
Just got back to Minnesota after a week or so out of the country. Anything interesting happen with the Twins while I was gone?!

If things continue to progress throughout the day, the Twins may actually end up with Maeda in camp and Graterol may finally be on the move after being in limbo for almost a week. Twins pitchers and catchers start workouts in two days, so.... get on it, teams.
