In case you missed it:
- One of the greatest hurlers in history was Walter Johnson, who played for the senators back in the 1900’s, and pitched in the 1924 series that we don’t talk about enough.
- Anagrams of the 40-man roster, because why not. We have to have a little fun at least.
- The draft is probably going to be cancelled. Yup.
Other Twins content:
- The Twins donated $30,000 to help kids eat, as schools are closed and many parents are now out of work.
- Single-A pitcher Donny Breek is the poster child for MiLB players who are stranded in a country that isn’t their home, with nothing to do and nowhere to go. At least the Twins are housing and feeding those guys, I guess.
Other Baseball stuff:
- Chris Sale is having Tommy John. Boston fans are all sad. They’ve had it good for long enough though.
- Tyler Beede is too. I guess a shortened season is a good one to miss?
- The last Dodger to steal home was Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez.
- I wish I was as clever as Eric (click the link above to see what I mean.)
- MiLB players will now make a few dollars for the next couple weeks. Its a half measure, but its something.
- I mean, its barely something. Its less than $60 per day. Good luck living on that. Of course something like 20% of America is currently out of work.
Update: The base allowance eligible minor leaguers will receive through April 8 is $400 a week ($57.14 per day), according to a memo MLB sent to clubs today. Individual teams may pay above that amount if they choose. https://t.co/8tnGCqCYFH
