While people worldwide are unable to work due to a certain global airborne threat, at least one local union is reaching out, and requesting the public voice, to aid its workers.

The Unite Here Local 17 union has launched a public petition, addressed to Minnesota Twins president Dave St. Peter, asking the Twins to join several other MLB teams in providing financial aid to the 700 concessions employees under its representation.

As concession stand operators are not directly employed by the team, the petition requests the team provide provider Delaware North with the funds needed to pay the workstaff. Since Delaware North recently laid off most of its full-time employees, assistance from the team will be required if part-time workers, such as those in Target Field concession stands, hope to receive pay.

If you wish to add your name to the petition along with a letter to team president St. Peter, you may do so here.
