Know the Foe: Over the Monster

Many of us had plans to wake up this morning, hop in our cars or take the bus, and wait in line outside the beautiful walls of Target Field for one of the best days of the year - the Minnesota Twins home opener. Of course, with COVID-19 in the world, we’re not able to follow through with those plans, and Major League Baseball, its clubs, and many channels have come through by broadcasting games since last week when Opening Day was scheduled to happen.

The Twins have decided to turn back the clock for us to follow suit in the Home Opener at Home idea, and today, they’re taking us back to the 2010 Home Opener, the inaugural season - and the inaugural game - at the newly-christened Target Field. That’s right - the M&M Boys will be on your screens today if you so choose. And no, Chaim Bloom will not ruin this day for you with his backing out of trades.

The Boston Red Sox come into this game 3-3 with Terry Francona at the helm, and he give the nod to Jon Lester. The Twins come home with a 5-2 record under guidance from Ron Gardenhire, and the one and only Carl Pavano will take the mound for Minnesota.
