To the shock and amazement of all, I was able to discover absolutely nothing new about Royals starter Jake Junis that James didn’t write last Friday. He throws sliders (Jakob, not James, although I’d have to fact-check that one.)

His mound opponent will be Jake Odorizzi, who scuffled through —

Wait.

Didn’t we...?

Ahem.

Since there’s nothing new about Junis to report, I’m going to discuss Wisconsin, whose Brewers the Twins played this week and are scheduled to play again soon. John had a stats breakdown here. I’m interested in the same matter I am every year when the Twins play Milwaukee: why do y’all —

Okay, seriously. I feel like everyone’s heard this already.

Moving on. Let’s talk about something else. Yesterday’s matchup saw Jakob Junis face off against Jake Odorizzi in an all-time Battle of the Jakes. Today’s a brand-new day, where Ian Kennedy will play opener for the Royals, before giving way to Jak—

Jakob Junis.

Okay, that’s weird. Maybe the Royals are adopting an old-timey approach, where you just keep running the same starting pitchers out there until their arms fall off. To each their own, but there’s no way new-wave manager Rocco Baldelli would do that with Jake Odorizzi, especially since he just came off the IL.

That’s why today’s starter for the Twins is Jake...Odorizzi.

This season is messing with my head.

Let’s pivot from baseball completely! I’m uploading a picture right now of the stormy, burnt Minnesota skies from last night. Let me just find that real quick...

It did storm last night, right? Tornadoes? Lightning, some hail? I took a ton of pictures, but the only thing on my phone is —

I’m gonna go get some air.
