Sergio Romo yelled at Cleveland and it was fun

MLB: Minnesota Twins at Cleveland Indians Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

You might think I’m lying when I say this, but Kenta Maeda and Nelson Cruz were really good tonight! Crazy, right? The Twins needed every bit of pitching and offense they could get tonight...

Kenta Maeda stays hot

Maeda didn’t quite go eight no hit innings tonight, but he did just fine. He went five innings, giving up one run with seven strikeouts. He continuously proves he can be the ace pitcher the Twins have been looking for. It’s nice to have another guy that you just know is going to produce when he takes the mound.

He was held to just 83 pitches once again. Aside from his near no-hitter, he has not gone past 85 pitches this season. In a short season with pitchers dropping like flies this might be the smart approach. Let’s hope it pays off come playoff time.

Cruz and Sano continue to rake

Tonight for the Twins, Nelson Cruz hit his 11th homer of the season and Sano hit his 6th. Both were hit hard to the opposite field so you know they’re seeing the ball well. They both have been absolutely on fire and carrying this offense. Sano has increased his OPS all the way up to .897 and Cruz is at 1.128 so things are going well.

They both his Flo from Progressive out in right field so I guess you could say they provided... insurance runs! Watch a replay if you’re confused.

The bullpen gets it done again.

When Maeda was pulled the Twins went with trust reliever... Caleb Thielbar. He did good! He got out of the inning and Trevor May came in for the 7th, giving up a run to make it 3-2. Sergio Romo came in for the 8th, gave up a double which caused the Indians to yell at him, and he then got out of the inning and yelled back. Taylor Rogers was brought in for the save and got it done just like we knew he would!
