Derek Holland v Lewis Thorpe

MLB: Cleveland Indians at Minnesota Twins Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

First Pitch: 7:10 PM Central

Know Thine Enemy: Bucs Dugout

After defeating the Cardinals and Indians with ease, the Twins will move on to face some real competition as the Pittsburgh Pirates come to town. Just kidding, the Pirates aren’t good. The two teams will enter with opposite records (Twins 7-2, Pirates 2-7) and that’s about what was expected.

Old friend Derek Shelton will make his regular season return to the Twins. He was the Minnesota bench coach last year but now manages the Pirates. Good to see you again, Derek. Is he the best Derek baseball has ever known?

Lewis Thorpe will make his first start of the year after a couple solid relief outings. LHP Derek Holland will pitch for the Pirates and he has had a solid start to his season.

Tonight’s Twins lineup is different than what we’ve been seeing lately. Josh Donaldson remains out, and Jorge Polanco gets his first off day. Jake Cave is back in the lineup, today in left field for Eddie Rosario.
