OF Brent Rooker called up. OF Max Kepler placed on the 10 day IL.
MLB Pipeline ranks Brent Rooker as the Minnesota Twins 12th best prospect. He was the 35th overall pick in the 2017 draft and is making his debut a little over three years later. In 259 minor league games, Brent Rooker hit 267/.357/.505 (.861) with 54 homers. He played just 67 games in 2019 but had a .928 OPS with 14 homers.
Max Kepler will head to the injured list after suffering an injury running home a couple days ago. The hope is it is not too serious and he will be able to return at least a week before the playoffs. Kepler is hitting .220/.322/.431 (.753) in 35 games this season
Willians Astudillo called up to be the 29th man. Juan Minaya sent to St. Paul
The turtle himself will return to the Minnesota Twins for today’s double header. It will be his first appearance with the team in 2020 after starting the season on the injured list. He fell off a bit last season, finishing with a .678 OPS, but perhaps he can provide a spark to this team. In another move, left handed pitcher Juan Minaya has cleared waiver and been sent down to St. Paul.
