Not content with a flurry of roster moves yesterday, the Minnesota Twins announced another string of transactions today:

After scoring the winning run in the nightcap of yesterday’s doubleheader, Willians Astudillo has been recalled to the active roster. He takes the place of Alex Avila, who left said nightcap with “low back tightness.”
Additionally, the Twins have swapped in a bat for an arm, recalling LaMonte Wade Jr. to provide outfield help. While Brent Rooker provides an outfield bat to replace Kepler, his defense is suspect, an area where Wade supplies more support. Wade takes the place of reliever Sean Poppen, whose 4.91 ERA includes being battered last game for three hits and two runs in two-thirds of an inning.
Finally, utility infielder Ildemaro Vargas has been claimed off waivers by the Chicago Cubs. In seven games, Vargas hit the Twins’ first triple of the season and had unfortunately few other highlights. Best of luck to him in Chicago.
