Hello and welcome back to our fun little site for another Friday discussion. We’ve made it through another week, and are now that much closer to spring- and with it, Twins baseball. However, we’re not talking Twins today- we’re talking Rockies, or Athletics, or Dodgers, or Rays, or maybe any other team (besides the Yankees and White Sox, hopefully). Who is your second favorite MLB team?

Now, perhaps, you don’t really have one. You’re all Twins, through and through. I can relate. However, even if you can’t call yourself a “fan” of a second team, I’m sure there’s another team that you root for above all others. Or maybe you just like some players on their roster, or perhaps they have some particularly snazzy uniforms. These are all valid reasons to crown a squad your second favorite team.

Personally, I’ve grown to call the St. Louis Cardinals my second favorite team. They’ll never surpass the Twins, of course, but I do root for them in all of their non-Twins games. I admire the sustainable winning way they have established despite not normally being huge players in free agency, I think they have some sharp uniforms, and perhaps a better reason than all others- my significant other is happier when they win. Again, I feel the need to emphasize- they’ll never surpass the Twins.

Other teams that I considered for my “second favorite” spot include the Padres and Athletics. The Padres were simply really fun to watch last year. Fernando Tatis Jr. is an absolute stud and one of the most electrifying players in baseball- I’m sure glad the Twins don’t have to play him 19 times a year. Boy, would that be rough if a division rival employed such an elite young talent. In the A’s case, I admire their winning ways, their uniforms are among the best in the sport, and I really enjoyed Moneyball. It’s just that simple.

Now, it’s your turn! Let’s hash it out in the comments section- who’s your second favorite team? And if it’s the Yankees or White Sox, you’re going to have some explaining to do.
