Series tied 2-2
Chris Sale and his 14.73 postseason ERA trot back out to the mound this afternoon. After an absolute ninth-inning massacre last night, Boston needs Sale to figure it out quick in order to give the Red Sox the edge when the series heads back to Houston on Friday. Framber Valdez, one of Houston’s two-and-a-half remaining pitchers, has been blowing up a bit in October as well — he did not make it through three innings of work during his Game 1 start.

Atlanta leads 2-1
This has been an excellent series. The Braves walked off the first two games (Austin Riley + Eddie Rosario providing the deciding hits) and the Dodgers stormed back with a pivotal home eighth to save the series from reaching 3-0 Atlanta. The Braves will try and keep their foot on the gas and open up a 3-1 lead (the most dangerous lead in sports.)
Julio Urias will pitch for the fourth time this postseason, having started Game 2 of the NLDS, pitched the middle innings of the decisive Game 5, and tossing the eighth two nights ago. Amidst all this, he has managed a 3.60 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 10 Octobish innings.
At the end of today, we could have two teams one win away from the pennant. Let’s see what happens!
