The yearly PECOTA projected standings by Baseball Prospectus were released a little while ago. In a shocking turn of events (not really,) the Minnesota Twins were projected to be division winners for the third season in a row.

That, of course, is excellent news because if you’re reading this I’d bet you’re a Twins fan. Hopefully you’re not a White Sox fan, because I have some bad news for you all in the south side of Chicago. The Sox are projected to finish in THIRD PLACE behind the Indians who are desperately trying to lose. Why is that?
Simply put, the White Sox have been extremely overrated this offseason. They are going to be good, don’t get me wrong, but unless you’re the 2019 Twins you don’t suddenly jump from average to division winner. I will admit I was shocked by this and would have the White Sox in second place and fighting with the Twins.
Either way, the Twins are projected to win the division. Here are some of the projected totals:
•Record 91-71
•Div win%: 60.8%
•6th highest win total
•5th highest Div Win%
Optimism reigns here in Minnesota. The Twins are going to win the division and then play some playoff games. Probably only three playoff games, but that’s alright.
