If you’ve ever considered writing about the Twins, we might have good news. With the new season, we have a slot open for a weekly contributor. Yes, its technically a paid gig, but its a very, very small stipend. Look at this as a way to just talk baseball with a good group of people. Its up to you if you write on a set day or whenever, as long as you meet post minimums (once a week, if that wasn’t clear.) We’ll help you with ideas, but you can generally write whatever Twins-related content you want.
What we are looking to find
- Someone who consistently submits high-quality, clear, and informative writing
- Someone who understands our voice and niche in the Twins blog community, and how their voice can add to and complement us. It helps if you’ve been a member of our community for awhile.
- Someone that brings a unique viewpoint to our team
- Someone who is passionate about discussing baseball. It helps a lot if you’re a Twins fan, as well.
- Someone with a good grounding in at least the basics of advanced baseball stats. Someone that keeps an eye on the farm system, and at least knows a bit about Twins prospects. Someone that can explain the intricacies of a baseball game.
If what’s listed above sounds like you, send me an email! If you’ve applied in the past, feel free to do so again. Include a writing sample, baseball-related if possible, and a sentence or two about why you want to write at Twinkie Town. No prior experience is required though. I’m going to move quick on this, so send it to me by Sunday, April 18th. Anything received after that, won’t be considered.
If, by chance, podcasts are more your speed, we have opportunities to add some Twins coverage within our huge podcast network at SBNation as well, so feel free to reach out if you want to learn more about it.
If you don’t want a weekly commitment, but want to try writing, feel free to reach out as well, we have ways to make that happen too!
