Entering the game the Twins were trying to snap a stretch of 9.2 innings without scoring a run. That did not happen.

Jose Berrios was pretty good today, tossing 5 innings, allowing just 1 run, while striking out 5 batters. But that singular run was too much for the languishing Twins offense to overcome, as A’s pitcher Jesús Luzardo allowed just 2 hits over 5.1 innings.

The Twins didn’t even get a runner into scoring position until the 6th inning, but Josh Donaldson struck out looking to end that scoring chance.

There was another chance in the 7th, but Willians Astudillo flew out to the warning track with 2 on to end the game, 1-0.

Studs:

Berrios, Donaldson

Duds:

The Coliseum lost some lights in this game which caused a fairly brief delay. The Twins haven’t scored in 17.2 innings, and they got just 2 hits in this game.
