Game 32: Twins at Tigers

A Twins game? Again? What are the odds!

MLB: Minnesota Twins at Detroit Tigers
An experimental game of “musical bases,” moments before disaster.
Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

First Pitch: 3:10 pm CDT

TV: Bally Sports North

Radio: Audacy / WCCO 830 / The Wolf 102.9 FM / TIBN

Well, honestly, I’m befuddled.

After playing not 24 hours ago, here they are again — the same group of grown men, and another, separate group of similarly grown men, running out onto this big patch of dirt (in costume!) and throwing a ball around.

I said, when this originally happened last night, that you could go your entire life without seeing something so bizarre ever happen again — and yet, all the same, here it is, happening before our very eyes not a day later.

There will be minor differences — Jose Berrios will face Jose Urena in a highly-anticipated “Battle of the Zays” — but beyond that, all of the usual fixtures will be in place. There will be outs. There will be balls and strikes. There will be runs, but there may not be hits. Only time will tell...specifically, 3:10 pm Central Daylight Time. (Rain delays notwithstanding; void where prohibited. Not available in AK or HI.)

After homering twice already for the St. Paul Saints, outfield prospect Trevor Larnach will be making his major-league debut following his addition to the active roster, displacing the injured Byron Buxton. He’ll be batting fifth behind Jorge Polanco, noted home run hitter.

All your favorites are here, including center fielder Jake Cave.
