So, on Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins allowed the Baltimore Orioles to snap a 14-game losing streak.
On Wednesday, the Minnesota Twins desperately need to win. For so many reasons. To save face, to not lose two in a row, to not lose two in a row to the worst team in baseball, to keep themselves within shouting distance of a playoff spot, to possibly get past Detroit and out of the basement of the A.L. Central, to save face, and, well, because you simply can’t lose a series to the Baltimore Orioles.
The Twins will send Randy Dobnak and his unsightly 6.49 ERA to the mound. He gave up six earned runs to Kansas City last time out, so, yeah.
Baltimore will trot out Matt Harvey (!) and his 6.84 ERA. Should be a barn-burner, no?
