Sergio Romo was traded to the Twins at the 2019 trade deadline (lets forget the other reliever trade from that deadline) and brought a fire to the bullpen the Twins are sorely missing this year. He promptly signed on for another year in Minnesota, partly because his neighbor made him chili. For reasons, which I do not understand, the Twins chose not to bring Romo back this offseason. For even less explainable reasons, Romo-stradmus chose to shave one of baseball’s greatest beards this season.
Now a member of the Oakland As, the always-spicy Romo turned it up a notch today, as the umpires chose to inspect him for “sticky stuff.” Look, I’m a happily married man, but I’m here for this show.
Apparently Sergio Romo also thinks these umpire checks are ridiculous pic.twitter.com/gHJcXA1rMc

In addition to his highly-competitive and entertaining attitude, Romo has outpitched most of the Twins’ pen—his 4.88 ERA vastly understating the performance found in a 3.04 FIP, 0.4 BB/9 and 2.88 K/BB performance, all of which are the best numbers he’s posted in years.
Romo is only making $2.25 million this year. Instead we get Alex Colome. Sergio might have been the one dropping trou, but it sure looks like Falvey and Levine are the ones who got pantsed.
