Let’s be real. New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins is officially the undercard.

What everyone’s looking forward to seeing tonight is Josh Donaldson stepping into the box to face Gerrit Cole, just days after the former accused the latter of cheating.

Cole has often been accused of using, um, substances to increase his spin rate. His last start came on the heels of a few minor leaguers earning suspensions due to the use of sticky substances on the baseball. In related news (at least according to Donaldson, that is), Cole had his worst start of the season, giving up five runs to the Tampa Bay Rays.

While Cole is 6-3 with a 2.26 ERA on the season, he’s just 1-2 with a 4.30 ERA in his last four starts.

Cole will be opposed by Randy Dobnak, who will get an opportunity to enact revenge on the Yankees squad who defeated him in Game 2 of the 2019 ALDS. Dobber, as the kids grown-ups call him, has struggled this year to the tune of a 6.19 ERA.
