Well Twins fans, we knew it was coming. Jose Berrios is being traded to the AL East. At least it isn’t our worst nightmare, as we will not be seeing him in pinstripes. Instead, he goes to the Toronto Blue Jays, for an incredible prospect return.
#MNTwins got Martin and Woods-Richardson for José Berríos.

Per Dan Hayes, the Twins will be acquiring the service of two highly-regard double-A players. Toronto prospects number two and four, per MLB.com, Austin Martin and Simeon Woods-Richardson.
Martin is a shortstop/outfielder, with a 2022 eta. He was the Blue Jays first round pick in 2020. Basically, think of him as Royce Lewis. Woods-Richardson is only 20 years old, but was drafted back in 2018 by the Mets. He was part of the return to the Blue Jays in the Marcus Stroman deal, and is now part of a second blockbuster trade. Woods-Richardson is currently pitching for team USA in the Olympics, making him the second player the Twins have acquired since they went to Tokyo.
We’ll have more information here throughout the day, as this trade, and likely several more occur.
