Know Thine Enemy: Covering the Corner

Coming off three straight series wins against the three first-place AL teams, the Twins will look to keep the ball rolling against a has-been contender.

Cleveland comes into the series 5-5 in their last 10 games, and coming off a near-perfect game yesterday by pitcher Tristan McKenzie.

This series (and the rest of the season) is pretty much meaningless for both teams, but winning is more fun than losing, so there’s that. The Twins will be giving the ball to Griffin Jax today, who pitched excellently against the White Sox in his last start, and is one of three promising Twins rookie starters. Cal Quantrill will take the bump for Cleveland, and surprise, surprise, Cleveland has turned another pitcher into a potential star. Quantrill sports a tidy 3.13 ERA in 97.2 innings pitched this year.

In Twins news, Nick Gordon has been called back up. Yay!

On the other hand, the struggling Trevor Larnach was sent down. Boooo!

Jake Cave and Andrelton Simmons remain in the lineup. That is all.

Go Twins Go!
