Riding high off of a winning road trip and a series win against he AL West 1st Place Astros, the Pale Hose are riding into town to bring the Twins back down to earth in front of a national audience.
The Twins will have the honor of facing the second-best centerfielder in the division in his return from the 60-day IL, as Luis Robert is back in the lineup today for the Sux. Unfortunately, the first-best centerfielder is not in the lineup today, as Rob Refsnyder has the night off. Side Note: when’s the last time anyone’s heard from Byron Buxton (aside from talking about Sheboygan sausages on the radio)?
The Bleached Stockings come in having swept the miserable Cubbies in their last series. They now have an 18.0 game lead on the surging Twins, and are fighting tooth & nail to fend off the Minnesota squad. They are also tied with the Astros for the second-best record in the American League, thanks to the Twins.
Lucas Giolito will be on the mound for Chicago, facing the mighty Charlie Barnes of the Twins. I think that it’s pretty obvious who has the upper hand here.
Go Twins! And remember: Jorge Polanco is a better hitter than Tim Anderson
