Your Minnesota Twins will be sending Joe Ryan to the bump on Wednesday evening to make his major-league debut against the Chicago Cubs.

Ryan, of course, makes up half of the Twins’ return from the Tampa Bay Rays in the Nelson Cruz trade. Since returning from the Tokyo Olympics, Ryan has started two games for Triple-A St. Paul, throwing nine innings and giving up just two earned runs while striking out 17 (!) batters and walking only a pair.

In 66 total innings at Triple-A this year between the Durham Bulls and the Saints, Ryan has a 3.41 ERA and has struck out 12.5 batters per nine innings with a phenomenal 0.79 WHIP.

Ryan will be opposed by lefthander Justin Steele, who gave up four earned runs in just 3 23 innings last time out to the Colorado Rockies.

Enjoy the game!
