We can’t have nice things. Joe Ryan was once again looking great today, but got hit on the wrist with a batted ball in the 6th and immediately exited the game. Trainers didn’t even come out, he just walked to the dugout, which is a pretty bad sign. I’m writing this before the end of the game so we’ll see how bad it is. Hopefully, we get good news after the game.
UPDATE: Rocco said that x-rays were negative and that he has a wrist contusion.
The Twins notched the first run of the game in the 3rd inning, thanks to an Andrelton Simmons double. In the 5th, Bradley Zimmer tied it up for Cleveland with a solo shot to right-center.
In the 6th, Josh Donaldson led off with a double, but Triston Mckenzie worked around it, keeping the 1-1 game intact.
Danny Coulombe was tasked with pitching the top of the 7th inning. He gave up a single, a walk, then a double to Austin Hedges which gave Cleveland a 2-1 lead. Yu Chang followed with a grounder to 3rd, scoring another run due to an Arraez error.
In the Twins half of the 7th inning, they couldn’t do anything, giving us the final score of 3-1.
Game 2 is scheduled for 6:40 CDT, so we’ll see you then.
