We’re going still streaking!!!

This is not a drill, ladies and gentlemen. The Minnesota Twins have won three consecutive games for the first time in over three weeks and just the second time all year. Plus, new hero Joe Ryan is on the mound on Wednesday night against the suddenly feckless Clevelanders, so we may as well put another win on the books, right?

Ryan hasn’t pitched in years, it feels like, due to the Twins super-rotation. He threw five innings in his MLB debut last Wednesday and gave up three earned runs — all coming on one swing of the bat, a three-run bomb from Frank Schwindel that provided the only scoring in a 3-0 Cubs win over the Twins.

This time around, Ryan will take on Cleveland and their exciting young starter, Triston McKenzie, who has had a relatively disappointing second go-round in the bigs but has pitched much better of late.

He’s currently carrying a 4.62 ERA for the season. For the months of August and September, however, McKenzie has given up only seven earned runs in 34 innings, an ERA of only 1.85.

This should be a good one, folks. Enjoy the game!
