Triple-A: Rain 1, Baseball Fans 0

It rained, so no baseball was played.

Double-A: Chattanooga Lookouts 5, Montgomery Biscuits 2

Lookouts starting RHP Ryan Eades tossed 5.2 innings of 1-run baseball to key his 2nd win of the year (2-1).

LF Lamonte Wade doubled in a run in the first, and then CF Ryan Strausborger hit a sac fly to bring in another. A double by 2B Levi Michael in the 2nd inning drove in their third run. Top SS prospect Nick Gordon hit his 4th home run of the year in the 5th inning. Both sides added single runs later to bring us to the final score of 5-2.

High-A: Dunedin Blue Jays 2, Fort Myers Miracle 1

They only played 7 innings in this game, I don’t know why. Leave a comment.

The Jays started the scoring in the 4th on an errant pick off attempt. In the 5th, a triple and a sac fly scored another. The Miracle pitcher, lefty Lewis Thorpe went 4 innings, and struck out 6. Not sure why he only went 4 innings, but it happened. The only run we scored came thanks to LF Bradley Strong’s RBI groundout, scoring CF Max Murphy. That wasn’t enough, obviously.

Low-A: Cedar Rapids Kernels 9, Clinton LumberKings 2

The Kernels scored the first runs in the first inning and never looked back.

In the first, a triple by 3B Ariel Montesino was followed by an RBI single by SS Jermaine Palacios. Later in the inning, DH Jaylin Davis hit a solo HR (11) to make the score 2-0. The LumberKings would tie it in the 4th off of right handed starter Eduardo Del Rosario. The future third “Ed” went 6 innings and struck out 9 in a nice performance, just allowing those 2 runs.

In the fifth, the Kernels broke it open with 5 runs. Jaylin Davis, 3B Travis Blankenhorn, LF Caleb Hamilton, and 2B Brandon Lopez drove them in. 1B Lewin Diaz keyed a 2 run homer (7) in the 7th, sealing the victory.
