Triple-A: Rochester Red Wings 5, Pawtucket Red Sox 3

Looks like the Red Wings love AMERICA more than the Red Sox! Especially CF Zack Granite, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI!

In fact, it’s a bit amazing the Red Wings won this game seeing as they only got seven combined hits, and they were all singles. Granite was the only player with more than one hit.

SP Justin Haley, the Rule 5 guy who is on rehab assignment, started and went 3 innings, giving up a two-run dinger in the process. He was relieved by RPP Nik Turley, who threw an impressive five scoreless innings and is clearly better than Haley. RP Jake Reed through the 9th inning, giving up another solo home run but got the job done

Double-A: Chattanooga Lookouts 6, Tennessee Smokies 5

Looks like the Lookouts love AMERICA more than the Smokies! They won this one in the bottom of the 14th inning on a walk-off single by DH Jonathan Rodriguez. J-Rod had a pretty strong game overall, going 4-fot-6 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI, and a walk. Thank you, J-Rod, for loving America!

High-A: Tampa Yankees 2, Ft. Myers Miracle 1

Looks like the Miracle HATE America more than the Yankees. This game was also a 14 inning affair, but the good guys didn’t get the walk-off this time. Instead, Miracle RP Kevin Garcia, who pitched the final 2.2 innings, got the loss after giving up a walk-off dinger to Yankee 3B Gosuke Katoh.

The Miracle hitters weren’t that interesting.

Low-A: Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 2, Cedar Rapids Kernels 1

Looks like the Kernels HATE America more than the Timber Rattlers. This one was another depressing affair, as the game was tied 1-1 going into the 9th, but Kernels RP Max Cordy coughed up a run in the top of the inning and the Kernels couldn’t make it a walk off in the bottom.

C Ben Rortvedt and 1B Lewin Diaz had good games at the plate, both going 2-for-3. Rortvedt had a double too.

Rookie League: Princeton Rays 6, Elizabethton Twins 2

Look who else hates America! The baby Twins! 2B Jose Miranda did hit a home run, though, and 3B Andrew Bechtold and CF Matt Albanese both doubled.

Today, the baby Twins committed three errors: Two by C Andrew Cosgrove, and one by Bechtold.
