A recap of the Twins' minor league affiliates' results from August 24th, 2017.

Triple-A: Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 8, Rochester Red Wings 3

A huge seven-run 4th inning for the RailRiders was what sank the Red Wings in this one. SP Chris Heston, who I entirely forgot about for awhile there, was responsible for the six of those seven runs. Two of those runs came on back-to-back solo home runs by RailRiders 2B Starlin Castro and 1B Greg Bird. The seventh run of the inning was actually unearned thanks to an error by CF Levi Michael.

Speaking of Michael, this was his Triple-A debut! He was substituted in at center field for the 4th inning, just in time to make that error! Woo! He didn’t really impress at the plate, either, going 0-for-3 with a strikeout. At least there’s nowhere for him to go than up?

Anywho, 3B Leonardo Reginatto and C Anthony Recker both hit doubles, but overall the Red Wings offense was pretty poopy. As a whole they only mustered six hits, and no one had more than one hit.

Double-A: Mississippi Braves 6, Chattanooga Lookouts 2

I hate to break it to you guys but SP Fernando Romero, was really bad yesterday. The dude gave up sic runs (five earned) over 5.0 innings. He walked SEVEN PEOPLE. All over the place.

1B Jonathan Rodriguez hit a two-run home run and a double, though, so that was cool.

High-A: Clearwater Threshers 8, Ft. Myers Miracle 5

DH Brent Rooker hit his already 9th home run in 35 games in High-A. That was pretty sweet. Other than that? The Miracle sucked.

Low-A: Cedar Rapids Kernels 6, Kane County Cougars 3

This game was literally tied 3-3 going into the ninth inning. The ninth inning is where RF Jimmy Kerrigan hit a THREE RUN DINGER and absolutely saved the day. Kudos to him. We should name a holiday after him.

Rookie League: Bristol Pirates 10, Elizabethton Twins 2

SP Bailey Ober lasted 5.0 innings but gave up five runs in the process. I mean, he got seven strikeouts, which is impressive, but still...
